Under no circumstances will the Martin County Public Library System release any personal information to any third parties.
The Martin County Public Library System is committed to protecting the privacy of
our staff, donors, patrons, and other contacts. The Library will collect no personal
information about you when you visit our website or library unless you choose to
provide that information to us. Any information you provide will only be used to
improve library services. When applying for a new library card we require certain
information for our records. This information will only be used within the library
system. The Library secures personal account information by placing it on a secure
portion of the Library’s Server located at the library. We do not store any personal
information on servers that are not located within the library. One of our security
measures require customers to enter a unique User ID and Password each time they
want to access their account information. This helps protect the patron against
un-authorized access to personal information.
Internet Cookies
Cookies are a text file stored in you temporary internet folder on your computer.
Cookies are used to help identify users and store personalized settings used to
enhance the user ability of our web site. For example, if you search for an item
in our catalog it will store it in a cookie. If you decide to search the same item
again it will automatically add that last search to a selectable dropdown box. Cookies
will not compromise the integrity or security of your computer. At any time you
can delete the cookies by clearing your temporary internet folder.
E-mails and Web Forms
Any information collected while sending an email or submitting a web form will only be used for library purposes.
Information you provide in emails or web forms may be shared between library branches
and extensions. The information will be stored so we can contact you concerning
questions or comments to services. If you provide personal information we may cross
reference the information and update your records.
