Introduction
The mission of the library’s computers is to provide information resources and services
and to ensure that all residents have free and open access to ideas and information
which are fundamental to a democracy. In this role, the library has made information
available in a variety of formats. The library’s computer system provides the opportunity
to integrate electronic resources from information networks around the world with
the library’s other resources.
Disclaimer
The Internet, as an information resource, enables the library to provide information
beyond the confines of its collection. It allows access to ideas, information and
commentary from around the globe and a vast array of tools and resources for different
age levels and points of view. The library does not endorse the viewpoints or vouch
for the accuracy of information obtained through the Internet.
Filtering
Internet resources may contain material of a controversial nature. Parents of minor
children are responsible for overseeing their child's use of the Internet.
Ethical Use
All users of electronic information resources such as the Internet are expected
to use these resources in a responsible manner, consistent with the educational
and informational purposes for which they are provided. It is unacceptable to use
the library’s computer systems and Internet resources for any of the following.
- For any purposes which violate applicable U.S or state laws. Users must respect
all copyright laws and licensing agreements pertaining to software, files and other
resources obtained via the Internet.
- Destruction of or damage to equipment, software, or data belonging to the library.
- Disruption or interference of network users or services. Such interference of disruption
includes, but is not limited to: distribution of unsolicited advertising, harassment,
libeling, or slandering of others and propagation of computer worms or viruses.

library will allow access to certain electronic resources. All requests will need
to be pre-approved by library staff. Staff members will use their judgment when
reviewing requests by patrons.
Wi-Fi(Wireless) Internet Access
Due to the unsecure nature of wireless internet access, users should not transmit
personal, credit, or any sensative information over the internet. The library cannot
be held responsible for poor or low wireless connections on any alterations or interference
to equipment from wireless connections. The library reserves the right to terminate
wireless connections at any time. All library policies apply to wireless internet
access.

Library staff will assist patrons with online use as time permits, but cannot offer
personal instruction.
Violations of the Guidelines
Users violating these guidelines will be advised of the library’s policy for ethical
use and asked to comply. Users who violate these guidelines after previous warnings
will result in suspension from using the library’s computers. Criminal violations
of laws governing the internet could result in criminal prosecution.
Time Limits
To support access for all users, the library has the right to enforce time limits
of one (1) hour. If we see the need to reduce the limit below one (1) hour, we will
