Library Card Policy
New Library Card
Patrons 17 or younger must have a parent/legal guardian with an active library card.
When
applying for a new library card be sure to have a valid picture identification and
proof of address. The first library card for each patron will be free of charge.
You will be asked to provide personal information. Please read our Privacy Statement to address any concerns you may have.
If you still have any questions please call (606) 298-7766.
Lost or Stolen Library Card
Protect your library card as you would your other personal cards.
The Martin County Public Library System is not responsible for your lost or stolen
library card. Please report this promptly if the situation arises. The card will
be void once it is reported lost or stolen. If someone uses your card to check out
items from the library you are responsible for those items.
Broke or Damaged Library Card
Protect your library card by keeping it in a place where it cannot be damaged.
If your card is broke or damaged we will replace it free of charge when you return
the damaged card to the library. A $5.00 replacement fee will be charged if the
card is lost. If the card is lost in a fire you must show proof. We will only replace
2 damaged cards per year. If you damage more than 2 cards you will be charged a
$5.00 fee.
